2.6. During 1997, we conducted (1) field works in the South Ural area (for account of another financial sources), (2) theoretical investigations of the earlier studied strike-slip magmatic duplexes from Central Kazakhstan and the Kola-Karelian region, (3) analitical study of magmatic rocks composition (for account of another financial sources), and (4) development of computer databases and software. The most important results of 1997 investigations are as follow.

1. New geological objects of different age and various deepness that are related to group of strike-slip duplexes.(magmatic and amagmatic) are revealed and studied in details on eastern slope of the South Urals.

2. Any areas of the South Urals, where strike-slip magmatic duplexes are distributed, were covered by series of intermediate-scale and large-scale geological maps.

3. First variants of regional structural geological maps of the Hercynian regions of Kazakhstan and the South Urals are designed.

4. Primary model for magmatic duplexes initiation and development was constrained. Model approximates some general features of objects which are situated on the Eastern Urals / Transurals boundary, in the Hercynian area of Central Kazakhstan, and in the Kola-Karelian region.

5. First classification of the magmatic duplexes developing under conditions of crust shearing is designed.

6. We carried out small-scale investigations of mafic-ultramafic layered massifs mineral associations including intrusions from the Kola-Karelian region (Lukkullaisvaara, Mt. Generalskaya, Burakovsky, Monchegorsk) and from the South Urals (Uspenovka, Tatischevo, Kulikovka).

7. Primary database on strike-slip magmatic duplexes is collected. Database consists of two parts which are base of published data (bibliography) and base of analitical data (owned and published); database needs addition, especially in its first part.

8. Extended set of applied soft ware for Windows (GEOCOLLECTION) was designed by us for the sake of processing and vizualisation of geochemical, petrological, mineralogical and structural data.

Discharged works either continues our earlier investigations, or are completely novel. They are aimed to main goals of project and are essential for development of general dynamical model on initiation and evolution of magmatic duplexes.
